Charming Village House in Els Poblets, Costa Blanca

At the heart of village life. The house sits in the old centre of Els Poblets, directly on one of the loveliest squares in the village. Right where life takes place: neighbours who greet you, a café around the corner, children's voices in the afternoon – and a square outside your door that becomes, quite naturally, an extension of your living room in summer. Here you do not live beside the village; you live within it.
Els Poblets – the little villages. Els Poblets lies in the north of the Marina Alta, immediately adjacent to Dénia, El Verger and Ondara – a manageable town of around 2,700 inhabitants, with quiet streets and low-rise housing. Its history goes back to the old settlements of Setla, Mirarosa and Miraflor, definitively united in 1971 – hence the plural name. Narrow winding lanes, low houses and the scent of orange blossom still shape the picture today. A place with its own identity, an established neighbourhood and a pleasantly unhurried rhythm – lively all year round, never overrun.
Two beaches, two characters. The local beach of Els Poblets is the Playa de l'Almadrava – a shingle beach of pale white pebbles, shaped over millennia by the Río Girona which flows into the sea here, and renowned for its exceptionally clear water. Beneath the surface lie Posidonia seagrass meadows teeming with marine life – a paradise for snorkellers and divers. Those who prefer fine sand underfoot drive a few minutes further north: the sandy beach of Les Deveses stretches almost five kilometres along the coast road and lies practically on the doorstep of Els Poblets – wide, bright and expansive, the more beautiful of the two for long beach days and walks by the water.
Everyday infrastructure. The village offers everything you genuinely need: supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, doctor, bars and restaurants – much of it within walking distance of the house. There is a bus connection directly from the village. Dénia is around ten minutes away by car; the large "Portal de la Marina" shopping centre in Ondara lies some eight kilometres away. Dénia itself offers its castle and old town, a fishing harbour and modern marina, an outstanding gastronomy scene and ferries to the Balearic Islands. Golfers will find Oliva Nova Golf around ten kilometres away.
Connections. Els Poblets is comfortably connected via the AP-7 motorway (exit 61 Oliva or 62 Ondara) and the N-332. The international airports of Alicante and Valencia are each around 100 kilometres away – both reachable in a little over an hour. Ideal, then, both as a permanent residence and for anyone travelling regularly between Spain and Central Europe.
